In this series, photographer Norma Sfeir captures moments of truth with women she has met over the years. Her gaze reveals their strength, light, and sensitivity. Each portrait becomes an intimate echo, a shared story, a meeting in the mirror. The exhibition creates a delicate bond between the artist and her models, in a silent but powerful sisterhood. Shadows, light, nature, and symbols intertwine to celebrate the authentic and political beauty of the feminine. The works, on paper or canvas, combine pure photography and photomontage, serving an embodied poetry.

Norma Faustine Sfeir is a photographer and director. After studying anthropology at the Sorbonne, she took theater classes with Strasberg and photography at the Parsons School in Paris. She traveled the world — South America, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt — to capture the depth of life in her documentaries. Among her films, Bali Tropiques (1981), acquired by the CNC, was screened in Parisian libraries and on Canal+. Un Instant avec les Mobiles de Calder (1983), featuring Japanese dancer Shiro Daïmon, was acquired for 30 years by the Paris Videotheque. Her photography exhibitions, in Paris in 1985 and in Beirut and Tripoli in 1998, attest to her artistic journey. Author of Féminin Majeur, she sensitively reveals the unique aura of her female models, often in close communication, “I recognize myself in them.” Guided by a spirit of challenge, she combines emotions, body, and culture in her work. With the establishment of the AWLAD association, she supports the emotional intelligence of children, convinced of the importance of artistic expression. The openness of her spirit, imbued with a multicultural background, captures her models in a new light, with a gaze that is deeply human and free from any judgment.
