In the Creative Writing Workshop, we will focus on the short form, meaning brief narratives such as fairy tales, short stories, micro-stories, bonsai stories, and aphorisms. We will become familiar with the principles of narratology (types of narrator, narrative perspective, time manipulation techniques, etc.), not only theoretically but primarily by observing how they have been applied in practice, in texts of Greek and foreign prose.
During the meetings, we will frequently do writing exercises on the spot, and then we will share impressions and comments. The character of the workshop, moreover, is intended to be playful and enjoyable, to give members the opportunity to rediscover the joy of reading and writing, sharing, expression, and communication!
Creative writing courses certainly do not “create” writers from scratch. They can, however, offer valuable resources to those who feel the need to express their experiences, feelings, thoughts, and emotions about life and the world around us through literature.
Through the courses, participants will better understand the techniques of literary writing, as well as the rules, forms, and disciplines that help a text gain power, precision, and communicate more meaningfully with the reader.
In any case, the least these courses achieve is the creation of a competent reader, that is, someone who is able to enjoy literature even more fully and deeply, not only as content but also as a r t.
