In October 2020, the Vitsentzos Kornaros Foundation printed 2,000 copies of a notebook with the aim of introducing itself to local students and the general public.
Letter to the Recipients of the Notebook
Dear student,
The notebook you hold in your hands is a small gift from the VITSENTZOS KORNAROS FOUNDATION. This is an endeavor that recently began in our Sitia, aiming to create a center for the promotion, study, and organization of Kornaros’s work. Like all great works, Erotokritos continues to radiate and inspire to this day. It remains vibrant and relevant because it manages to illuminate the true essence of human affairs in a revealing and fertile way. And truth is always relevant.
We also wish to highlight this approach and use it as a compass to, in turn, illuminate other ideas and actions related to the culture and education of our region. And we hope our Foundation will become a home for everyone, a meeting point for creation, a place of joy and hope.
On this journey, our constant value remains the approach to the youthful spirit, because the resources of education and knowledge can only bear fruit and make our world better with the strength and momentum of youth. Through our activities, educational programs, and events, you will have the opportunity to get to know us and participate in this effort.
So, take a look at the beginning and end of this notebook to learn about our vision and goals, and keep it as a discreet reminder of our presence, but primarily as a challenge for creation, as a source of inspiration, so that this school year brings you closer to your goals and dreams.
