On May 24, 2026, the Reading Club of Stegi VITSENTZOS KORNAROS had the distinct pleasure of hosting Angela Kastrinaki, Professor of Modern Greek Philology at the University of Crete.
Members and friends of the Club enjoyed a short reading of the short story “Dream on the Wave,” recited by Angela Kastrinaki and Yiannis Perogambrakis, actor and director, while Angela Kastrinaki’s flute accompaniment added a special atmosphere to the evening.
Subsequently, Angela Kastrinaki analyzed the short story, approaching Alexandros Papadiamantis’s work through the interpretation of symbols and correlations with his other short stories. The main theme was “The Erotic Unloved Papadiamantis.”
It was a two-hour journey into the magical world of the great author’s timeless work.
Ms. Popi Kassotaki introduced Angela Kastrinaki as an author, professor, and philologist. Gina Stepanian referred to statements by authors who portray Alexandros Papadiamantis as a person and emphasize the value of his work and the charm it holds for readers. Ioannis Palamas read biographical information about Yiannis Perogambrakis.
We warmly thank Angela Kastrinaki and Yiannis Perogambrakis for this special evening.
