On May 25, 2025, an attempt was made for an exploratory drilling above Sitano for a proposed wind farm – without the necessary environmental permit.
The drilling risked penetrating two underground aquifers that supply Sitano and Zakros, threatening the clean water supply and disregarding local opposition and hydrological warnings.
“Confluences” travels from village to village, collecting stories, models, and maps; a journey that shows how what happens on the surface reaches the depths of the earth.
