A meeting of painting and photography around the passage of time; what changes, what is lost, what insists on remaining alive in memory.
Because some things… did not bloom in vain.
Manolis Plexousakis is a surgeon with a love for painting, which he only recently managed to cultivate.
Dimitris Tiniakos is a retired OTE employee. He has been involved in photography as an amateur since 1980.
Manolis and Dimitris have been friends for a long time.
“Through our shared experiences, we realized that both of us are visually fascinated by the theme of Time’s impact on materials and people. This is what we try to convey in our joint exhibition, each with his own perspective. Time can carry with it the notion of decay, loss, irreversibility, nostalgia, and even sadness for what is lost.
However, our position through our works attempts to additionally attribute to Time its essential contribution to evolution, change, and the preservation of Life, without forgetting that temporality also gives value to what we experience daily. A hymn to Time, then, and to everything that passed – not in vain, we believe – and faded away.”
