The Mediterranean, the unknown sea on our doorstep. Its rich biodiversity includes whales, dolphins, beaked whales, porpoises, seals, seabirds, sea turtles, and a large number of fish species, corals, invertebrates, and other wondrous creatures.
Marine animals and plants, well hidden in its large underwater canyons, submarine caves, reefs, isolated rocky islets, and even on busy, well-known beaches, are introduced to us through the photographic lens of LIFE MareNatura’s collaborators.
Part of the photographic material collected during the program’s scientific research in Greece and Italy is showcased through a mobile Photographic Exhibition. This exhibition includes images of the species and marine habitats studied by the program, accompanied by concise explanatory texts in Greek and English.
The LIFE MareNatura Photographic Exhibition will be hosted at the VITSENTZOS KORNAROS Cultural Center (V. Kornarou 97, Sitia) from Monday, November 24, 2025, until Friday, December 5, 2025.
Exhibition hours: weekdays 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
On the last day of the Exhibition, a LIFE MareNatura collaborator will be present at the VITSENTZOS KORNAROS Cultural Center to give a brief presentation of the project and answer any questions from visitors.
